My back went out inexplicably yesterday. It hurts again just looking at that picture.

Hell yes! I really started taking my training seriously last June. My total was 1014 lbs. My goal was 1000, I am so happy.

Excellent! Definitely keep us posted, I love hearing about health and strength progression.

The way it works is you get three attempts at the squat, bench press and deadlift. The heaviest weight that you successfully lift in each lift is added together to get your total. I did 150kg(330.693lbs) squat, 110kg(242.508lbs) bench and 200kg(440.925lbs) deadlift. As them up and that’s my total.

Also everyone is super super supportive, almost everyone is cheering you on. There was almost no ego. Like even the douchiest lifter I encountered was still nice.

That’s one of the coolest things about it. Everybody cheers for everybody.

Nah, chiropractors are quacks (IMO), though I know lots of people have benefitted from them. I’ve had enough of these in the past to know that it’s just a matter of time before it works itself out. I’m puzzled, though, what caused this one. I was fine on Saturday and woke up fine on Sunday morning, but then it just started out of the blue. I hadn’t done any heavy lifting or other contortions prior.

If you do want to consider competing, I recommend finding a Powerlifting coach. I would not have even tried this on my own. My coach is incredibly helpful and supportive. I competed in USAPL sanctioned event. On the USAPL website you can find your state and then find powerlifting friendly gyms in your state if your gym is not and hopefully find a powerlifting training center. That’s what I did. There should also be a listing of USAPL certified coaches in your state too.

Yeah, I didn’t know what to expect but it was awesome!

I won’t argue the quack part but the guy I go see isn’t trying to push the quack part on me. He deals with a lot of athletes so it goes pretty well.

As you get older, you have to be more careful with that Sat night hanyky-panky. lol

There is actually a lot of truth to that statement.

Nice! I wish I had been able to compete, I was on the power lifting team my senior year in high school but a couple weeks before competition my lower back started bothering me so I wasn’t allowed to lift until it got better. I kind of want to get back into it, but I’m trying to lose weight first before I go and bulk up. Before I had to stop I was up to ~270lbs bench, ~400lbs squat, and right around 500lbs dead lift.
